Clinicopathological study and management of salivary gland neoplasms in a tertiary care hospital

Background: Salivary gland neoplasms are rare and constitute 3 to 4% of head neck neoplasms. Majority them benign a small percentage malignant tumors. A careful clinical examination judicious investigations help us plan for an optimal surgical management. The aim the study was clinico-epidemiological pattern, histological subtypes, management & postoperative complications salivary neoplasms.Methods: This retrospective conducted on 52 patients admitted into wards DR. PSIMS RF during period between November 2017 October 2020. All were followed up until one year (October 2021) after surgery.Results: Data cases recorded, which 20 male 32 female, median age group 41 50 years. (47) presented with swelling in parotid region 1 2 years duration. 44 diagnosed pleomorphic adenoma 43 underwent superficial parotidectomy.Conclusions: is most commonly involved majority being adenoma. Superficial parotidectomy common surgery done minimal complication rate.
